Impressions from September & October 2015 : a personal project

Nov 26, 2015

It’s time for another round of Impressions!

Here’s a few moments from September and October. And as usual.. it’s all about the girls ;-)

[1] Our Stairwell on the Hull-Rotterdam Ferry
We took the Stena Line ferry to the UK and they don’t have a stairwell! *gasp* Not to worry… we returned on our usual route with P&O Ferries and got our photo ;-)

[2] Blijdorp Zoo, Rotterdam
Our little girl is growing ever taller! blink blink

[3] Becoming friends, Lea & Eddy
These two are finally happy to be in each others company. Or should I say, Eddy hangs around a little longer these days. Lea has learned to stroke instead of pull his fur out, most times any way. Work in progress :-)

[4] Bike ride in the Meijendal Dunes
We bought a FollowMe coupling device to attach Rebekka’s bike to mine, and we LOVE it! Rebekka loves to cycle inline behind mama, and to go-go-go very fast! This was our second long trip out, all four of us. We cycled in the dunes to a lookout point on top of one of the taller sand dunes, the same place I cycled to the day before Lea was born. It was hard work for me and with shaking legs, I had to get off my bike and walk the last part to the top. Either my muscles have forgotten how to cycle up hills, or it could be because I was pulling a heavy load, or maybe a bit of both. Having little Lea on the back and pulling Rebekka on her bike certainly did not make my task easy at all! It was fun though!

[5] A visit from the Grandparents
My Dad and Denise came to visit for a weekend which meant Lea enjoyed an early birthday celebration!

[6] The Birthday Girl. Lea is ONE!
She is such a delight! Even now, I’m still a little in disbelief that she is one. The year went by so fast!!

[7] The bottle bag
Lea has a new trick up her sleeve… the same trick Rebekka had at about the same age. Emptying the bag of empty bottles and throwing them all around the room. Sigh.

[8] Halloween
This year we took a walk along the beach to the Kaizerstraat to see the halloween market (and the gouls hanging about)! In the evening, with a little help from Rebekka, we carved our pumpkin. You can see the result on Instagram!

Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.

Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Say hello in the comments below and then hop on over to see what Susanne Ashby of Susanne Ashby Photography is sharing this month :-) Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here – I hope you enjoy all our posts!

With love,
~ Natalie

  1. Vinita

Really gorgeous images Natalie! I love seeing the little peaks into the girls lives! So precious!

    • Natalie

Thank you, Vini. It always amazes me when I go back to review all the photos i’ve taken, many in haste and quickly forgotten about, how fast the girls change and grow up! So glad to stop and choose a few of those moments to remember in this way :-)

  2. Susanne

I love all the sweet pictures of your little ones! They’re precious!

    • Natalie

      Thank you, Susanne :-)

  3. Kim

I can’t believe how quickly the girls are growing. You do such a lovely job catching them in action.

Impressions from May and June 2021 : a personal project

Nature inspires me constantly and I’m often pausing to take it all in or to capture what I see in a photo. I usually only have my phone camera with me on my morning walks so this round of Impressions is a blend of DSLR and iPhone photos. I love witnessing the seasons...

Impressions from March & April 2021 : a personal project

We're still regularly geocaching! We go out with a walking route in mind and a cluster of caches to look for along the way. It's nice to escape the busy beach area and find quiet places in nature. In early April we invited friends to join us and we walked round...
