Impressions from May and June 2021 : a personal project

Nature inspires me constantly and I’m often pausing to take it all in or to capture what I see in a photo. I usually only have my phone camera with me on my morning walks so this round of Impressions is a blend of DSLR and iPhone photos. I love witnessing the seasons change and how the weather affects the mood, and the colour, and the light. It’s a feast for my eyes and food for the soul.

My hayfever has been ridiculous again this year so I’ve been foregoing lots of wonderful nature walks in the Meijendel dunes and instead I’ve headed to the beach, almost daily in the last few weeks! And on good-weather-days I’ve walked barefoot in the sea, I really love to do that!!

Hayfever also put a temporary pause on our geocaching nature adventures, the high pollen count was just too much for us (Heiko and Lea both suffer with it as well). We did manage to visit a few new places though. We loved walking through the Ackerdijkse Plassen nature reserve in Oude Leede (a village in Pijnacker-Nootdorp). Rebekka took my old camera again and we walked at a snail’s pace waiting for her as she photographed everything she loved. Spring lambs, ducklings, goslings, beautiful homes, trees, and lots of horses. She said she wants to live there when she’s older! It was so peaceful.

Spring kept on blooming in our garden too, and we’ve had so many beautiful tulip varieties this year. I can’t wait to plant even more bulbs this autumn!!!! :-)

Heiko is still baking most weekends and he made a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese frosting to celebrate mother’s day. It was delicious! Another recipe to repeat!

‘Impressions’ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. Every other month, we share a selection of images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks. We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Next, hop on over to see what Kim Rogers of Brink Street Photography in Denver Colorado is sharing this month :-)

With love,
Natalie xx
