Impressions from March & April 2021 : a personal project

We’re still regularly geocaching! We go out with a walking route in mind and a cluster of caches to look for along the way. It’s nice to escape the busy beach area and find quiet places in nature. In early April we invited friends to join us and we walked round Abtswoudse Bos in Delft. It was a day with all four seasons in it with the weather changing every 10 minutes! Sun, rain, sun, rain, hailstone, snow, sun again. It was crazy! And fun! We’ve also visited parks in Wassenaar, Voorschoten, and Nootdorp these past couple of months. And we’ve been back to the Westerpark in Zoetermeer too (still a favourite park to visit). One of our recent trips took us to Landtong Rozenburg (Hook van Holland) and we unexpectedly found ourselves at a ferry crossing on the way to get there! We saw lots of Scottish Highlands on that little adventure, lots of ducks and geese with babies, chickens too, and as we walked back to the car we said hello to a beautiful horse in the adjacent field who was quite curious about us. Do you go geocaching? I’d love to know if you do!

Spring has been playing hide-and-seek these last couple of months, don’t you think? The beautiful magnolia tree in our garden came into full bloom with flowers opening wide to greet the sun. Then a hailstorm hit a few days later and it sure didn’t like that!

I met up with Annette Flottmann-Nilsson and one of her horses, Tetris, a 14 year old Irish Cob Gelding who she works with in her equine assisted coaching practice. It was very special to ‘tune-in’ and spend time with Tetris, as well as to photograph him with Annette. They share such a beautiful bond.

‘Daffodil clouds’ in the grounds of Kasteel Duivenvoorde. I enjoyed chatting with photographer, Erika Brouwer, and soaking up the beautiful nature on our photo-walk that day!

Make a wish!

We celebrated Rebekka’s 9th birthday in April. Hubby is the new baker in our family and made an amazing (and delicious!) rainbow cake which the girls enjoyed decorating themselves. They didn’t know there was a rainbow inside till we cut into it! SURPRISE!! :-D Now, I wonder what Rebekka’s wish was.. looks like it’s one she really wanted to come true! <3

Rebekka’s gifts included plain t-shirts and fabric pens, and she spent her birthday designing a “cool time” t-shirt with a penguin on the back and then wore it to school the next day. She also received a tie-dye kit and made herself a yellow, pink and orange tie-dye t-shirt. She was excited to design more and I’ve bought a few more t-shirts since then so a collection of her own designs is slowly growing!

‘Impressions’ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. Every other month, we share a selection of images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks. We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Next, hop on over to see what Leslie Huckey Sarten of Leslie Meadow Photography in Anchorage, Alsaka is sharing this month :-) Continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here. And say hello in the comments below, I would love to hear from you!

With love,
Natalie xx
