Impressions from November 2013 : a personal project
It’s time for another month of ‘Impressions‘.
‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our monthly posts.
On the 8th of each month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.
November was off to a rocky start with a shoulder injury so my selection is from the last two weeks when I was starting to feel better and had my strength back (thank goodness for a wonderful osteopath!)
Rebekka features in a fair number of images this month, enjoy! ;)
 Meijendal Duinen, Scheveningen.
My shoulder injury meant I couldn’t carry Rebekka so I relished in our walk together this day. I was finally able to lift her again but didn’t need to, those little legs walked a long way and we even enjoyed a game of chase! — I’m so in love with her cute chin dimples ;)
 Scheveningen Beach.
A late afternoon walk along the beach – I love sunbeams bursting out of the clouds, so beautiful! Taken with my iPhone, how I wish I’d had my camera with me that time!
 Spuistraat, Den Haag.
It gets dark so early this time of the year but it’s nice seeing all the Christmas lights starting to appear on all the main shopping streets. This one of a stork (a symbol of The Hague, which has traditionally been a city of storks) caught my attention as we made our way back to the car after a quick shopping trip and a stop at KFC.
 Lange Poten, Den Haag.
Another one taken with the iPhone. I seem to be looking up a lot lately, since clouds feature in a lot in the images I’ve taken this month!
 Gerbera close-up.
I was gifted a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and of course couldn’t resist photographing them!
 Scheveningen Beach.
Rebekka and Papa looking out to sea during the 200 year celebration of the Kingdom of The Netherlands – several ships from the Navy and Royal Netherlands Marines were close to the shore. To start the celebration, there was a re-enactment of the historic arrival of King Willem 1st in 1813 near to the Keizerstraat but Rebekka was busy exploring along the promenade so we didn’t make it that far.
 SprookjesBeelden aan Zee, Scheveningen Beach.
Rebekka LOVES the SprookjesBeelden aan Zee (Fairytale Sculptures by the Sea)! She is so happy to run and climb up and down the steps and is curious about the all the sculptures. We can easily spend a lot of time there!
 At home.
This is very typical of Rebekka at the moment… here she is scoffing down a banana and playing peek-a-boo on the cat tree – which she also keeps trying to climb! She’s a little monkey for sure, she’ll climb anything ;)
Please continue through the circle and see what Leslie Huckey Sartan from Leslie Meadow Photography is sharing this month :) Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here – I hope you enjoy all our posts!

Nature inspires me constantly and I’m often pausing to take it all in or to capture what I see in a photo. I usually only have my phone camera with me on my morning walks so this round of Impressions is a blend of DSLR and iPhone photos. I love witnessing the seasons...
We're still regularly geocaching! We go out with a walking route in mind and a cluster of caches to look for along the way. It's nice to escape the busy beach area and find quiet places in nature. In early April we invited friends to join us and we walked round...
