Impressions from July & August 2015 : a personal project

It’s time for another round of Impressions!

Here’s a few special moments from July and August.

[1] Who can resist those tiny toes?
Lea started pulling herself up to standing early-July (at 8.5 months), getting her knees up off the ground by pushing off the floor with the tops of her feet, then rolling onto the outer side of her feet and then up onto tiptoes before putting her heals down. It was fascinating watching her learn!

[2] Ever curious…
Checking out the view from Rebekka’s bedroom window!

[3] Grandad with Rebekka and Lea
Arriving on my birthday, we were very excited to have Grandad (my Dad), Grandma, and cousins Daisy and Eva come to stay with us, our first visitors to stay at our new house! We survived three 3-year-olds sharing a bedroom – yay! It was so quiet when they left… we were all a bit sad but we are looking forward to more visits from them!

[4] Blijdorp Zoo, Rotterdam
The platform has gone but the giant pig’s head is still there. How Rebekka has grown! I love this series of ‘growing taller’ images :-)

[5] Breakfast time
Rebekka comes running towards Lea, loudly calling “Layla Layla” (her own unique pronunciation – the rest of us say “Lay-a”) till they touch heads and pause to have a little conversation all of their own. Love!

[6] Horses
This was Rebekka’s handywork. I went to look for my glass to refill it and found it surrounded by horses. It brightened my day and I couldn’t help but smile at the decoration.

[7] Walking!
Wait! What?! I cannot believe Lea is walking already! (She’s 9 months here.)

Oh let me just melt right here…

Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.

Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Say hello in the comments below and then hop on over to see what Antonina Mamzenko is sharing this month :-) Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here – I hope you enjoy all our posts!

With love,
~ Natalie

Lea is such a cutie! I love the interaction with the older sister too :) It is nice to see Lea going through the same stages as Nate, our little boy! He is just few weeks behind her :) <3

Lovely to read your comment, Viktoriya! I’m equally enjoying your photos and updates of Nate on Facebook for the same reasons, but also because I love to read your first-time mama observations – you only have your first baby once, experiencing all ‘the firsts’ together is very special! :)

He can stand by himself now and make 1-2 steps! :) Do you guys want come to UK to celebrate his BD in November? :) Maybe not the best time of the year to travel, but I am sure kids would have fun and we can show you around Cambridge :)
