Impressions from January & February 2015 : a personal project

It’s time for another round of Impressions! Here’s a few moments I want to remember from January and February..

[1] Lea, (12 weeks / almost 3 months)
That hair! I love it! I’ve been making a point of photographing Lea regularly, and I did the same with Rebekka. Her face is changing so quickly, it was quite special to go back (even only going back a couple of months) and see the difference. Her newborn look is totally gone now, and she’s becoming a real little person – and having her own little personality along with it! Just want to kiss those sweet cheeks of hers..!

[2] Morning light, The Hague skyline
The dark winter mornings are long gone now but this takes me right back to a really beautiful morning early in January. It was Rebekka’s first day of creche since the Christmas holidays. I had just gone into her bedroom to wake her up and these wonderful colours greeted me as I opened the curtains. Beautiful!

[3] Bedtime shenanigans! (Rebekka, age 2.5 and Lea, 13 weeks / almost 3 months)
The love between these two, it makes my mama-heart swell with pride! Whilst getting the girls ready for bed, i’d first change Lea and then place her in the cot and then get Rebekka ready for bed. No sooner had Rebekka got her pyjamas on, she was in the cot with Lea and full of giggles! Bedtime is much different these days (mostly Papa is getting Rebekka ready, and I’m feeding Lea in a darkened room), so this image is one to treasure for sure.

[4] Hi. Lea (16 weeks / almost 4 months)
You can tell she enjoys her milk, right? :-)

[5] Rebekka’s pine cone
This pine cone was one of Rebekka’s finds that made it’s way home with us. It’s been on our balcony for months and she’s always playing with it whenever she’s out there. Depending on the weather, sometimes it’s scales are open and sometimes they’re closed tight. I never knew till now that they still opened and closed after having fallen from the tree so long ago!

[6] Playdoh
Occasionally we have days where the rain keeps us inside, and whilst Lea naps in her room, I get to spend some quality time just me and Rebekka. The playdoh often makes an appearance during these times. I’m not such a fan of the stuff (it gets everywhere!) but she sure has a lot of fun with it!

[7] Scheveningen Pier, Scheveningen Beach
After a full-on day of working every minute that Lea napped, it was time to get out and let the fresh air blow away the cobwebs, so to speak. I love the sea. I love hearing the rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the shore. This is my favourite place to ‘Be’.

[8] My view. Lea (18 weeks / 4 months)
Breastfeeding. I want to always remember this wonderful time together ♥. It took a few attempts to get a photo because Lea kept smiling at me and showing the goods, too cute that little smile of hers, I melt :-)

‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our bi-monthly posts.

Every other month, we will be sharing 8 images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month.

Say hello in the comments below and then hop on over to see what Kim Rodgers of Brink Street Photography is sharing this month :-) Then continue clicking through the circle till you make it back here – there are six of us joining in this month, I hope you enjoy all our posts!

With love,
~ Natalie
